The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our team to lead the development and delivery of the agricultural operations program across the province.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a thorough understanding of the livestock industry and issues related to water resources and environmental protection;
- Be able to lead, coach and direct a team of talented professionals and collaborate with others;
- Be able to develop and provide strategic options, comprehensive policy advice and recommendations regarding regulatory modernization and enforcement processes;
- Have a proven capability to identify, develop, and deliver key strategic insights, counsel and policy with a high degree of innovation and accountability;
- Have strong analytical, public relations and communications skills in order to resolve complex, intense issues involving several competing interests;
- Have strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a broad scope of issues under pressure and within limited timeframes; and
- Have well-developed written and oral communication skills and the ability to work with, and influence, a variety of stakeholders.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through a degree in engineering, environmental sciences, graduate degree in Business Administration, public policy or other related fields along with several years of experience supervising, training and coaching staff.
