Thessalon Child Care Program
The Ideal Candidate will have:
Diploma in Early Childhood Education OR Bachelor of Education OR Child and Youth Work or Child and Youth Care
Qualifications in a related field may be considered
Knowledge of current Child Development Theories and Practices, Early Identification
and Intervention and of all Relevant Legislation, Policies and Procedures
Team and Relationship Development Skills
Effective Verbal and Listening Communication Skills
Effective Written, Planning, Organizational and Time Management Skills
Computer Literacy Skills
Current Standard First Aid Certificate and Infant/Child CPR
Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
Health Assessment and Current Immunization required from successful candidates
Salary: $20.20-$25.00 per hour (wage based on Education)

For over thirty years, the Sault and area has trusted Child Care Algoma, a non-profit incorporated corporation as the premier child care provider. A trust earned from the days when they were known as Sault Ste. Marie Day Care Services in 1982. Since then, Child Care Algoma has expanded to cover much of the Algoma District, and is also the lead agency for the Ontario Early Years for Sault Ste. Marie.
The early years of development from conception to age six, particularly for the first three years, sets the base for competence and coping skills that affects learning, behaviour and health throughout life. Our competent and committed teams offer children and families high quality, accessible early years programs and services that contribute to healthy child development today and a stronger future tomorrow.
