About the role

Position Title: Housekeeping Attendant

Location: Prince George Family Y ( 2020 Massey Dr, Prince George, BC V2L 4V7)

Terms: Permanent, Part-Time (8-24 hours/week)

Shifts Shifts vary but will include Evenings from 6:00pm - 1:00am

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $17.85 per hour

Reports To: Manager, Maintenance

Nature & Scope:

The housekeeping team is responsible for meeting the highest standards of building cleanliness to ensure our members have an enjoyable experience in a clean facility. Completing cleaning tasks to ensure the facility is ready for members to use on a daily basis.

Major Responsibilities:

  • To support the Maintenance and Housekeeping Team
  • To perform the day-to-day cleaning of the YMCA as specific in the work schedule
  • Performing general maintenance duties such as grounds maintenance (lawns, gardens, snow clearing and sanding) minor/basic construction and repair, painting.
  • Performing general housekeeping duties such as cleaning room and bathroom floors, glass, fixtures, servicing and stocking paper, soap and sanitizer dispensers.
  • To clean and maintain change rooms, bathrooms, shower and steam room facilities
  • To clean and maintain fitness Centre, studios, classrooms and childcare spaces.
  • Cleaning and servicing fitness and maintenance equipment.
  • To interact with members, staff and volunteers in a friendly, welcoming manner.
  • Working independently, consciously and safely.

Requirements:

  • A combination of experience and training related to building maintenance and cleaning
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C certification (the YMCA will support in renewing/achieving certifications)
  • WHMIS Certification
  • Experience working in a recreation or health services related facility or similar public venue is an asset
  • Ability to meet & maintain the ongoing physical needs (walking, standing, lifting, push/pull, etc.) of the job, in all types of climates (indoor & outdoor).
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Reference
  • Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
  • 3 professional references
