The International Recruitment team is committed to promoting NAIT’s programs and creating a welcoming, informative experience for prospective international students. The team is often the first point of contact for students exploring their journey to NAIT, helping them understand NAIT’s program options, the admissions process and the campus community.

We are seeking a creative and social media-savvy student to join our team as a Peer Recruitment Assistant (Social Media Ambassador). Reporting to the International Market Liaison, this role will play an important part in sharing authentic student experiences and creating engaging digital content to promote NAIT’s programs, services and campus life.

Key****Responsibilities:

  • Support organic promotion and engagement with prospective international students and global partners.

  • Create, schedule, and post engaging social media content to promote NAIT’s international recruitment initiatives across platforms.

  • Assist with preparing graphics and short videos, and monitoring trends for social media.

  • Collaborate with other Peer Recruitment Assistants to develop content ideas and campaigns that showcase NAIT’s programs, student experiences, and living in Edmonton.

  • Represent NAIT in a positive and professional manner across all content and communications.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Good understanding of social media platforms.

  • Basic photo and video editing skills.

  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop fun, informative, and culturally relevant content.

  • Good communication and storytelling skills, especially in a visual format.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable being on camera and/or filming others.

  • Demonstrated intercultural understanding and awareness.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a current NAIT international student (successful completion of at least one semester of course load at NAIT) or recent international alumni (graduated within the past 2 years).

  • Strong knowledge of NAIT’s programs, services, and campus life.

  • Passion for connecting with prospective students and global partners, representing the NAIT experience.

  • Experience using social media platforms and basic content creation tools.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with confidence in being on camera.

This is a casual position with a maximum of 24 hours per week. Working hours may vary based upon need and availability and may include evenings and weekends.

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).

Remuneration: $21.29 - $27.38 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation accrual. (Classification – Administrative Support III).

This casual opportunity is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
