The Copper Mountain mine currently produces approximately 100 million pounds of copper equivalent per year. With a future mill expansion and the integration of New Ingerbelle, the Copper Mountain Mine is expected to produce approximately 140 million pounds of copper equivalent per year over the first 20 years of its 32-year mine life based on reserves. The Opportunity Hudbay Minerals Inc. is seeking a Supply Chain Clerk at our Copper Mountain Mine in Princeton, BC. This position is a 5x2, Monday to Friday schedule.

Position Supply Chain Clerk Location Copper Mountain Mine, is located near the town of Princeton, British Columbia at the center of the scenic Similkameen Valley. Princeton is a community-oriented town with a diverse offering of activities, especially for those who love the outdoors. Princeton is also in close proximity to both the city of Vancouver and the Okanagan.

Summary Reporting to the Materials Management Superintendent, the Supply Chain Clerk is responsible for providing supply chain support to the Supply Chain team, as well as to the Mine and Mill Operations departments to ensure the timely delivery of parts and materials required to support production at the Copper Mountain mine site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with all administration functions within the Supply Chain department,
  • Create Supply Chain department requisitions,
  • Create and manage Supply Chain Service Entry Sheets,
  • Administer and manage all new vendor add requests and ongoing vendor master maintenance on behalf of Supply Chain,
  • Reconciliation of contractor hours,
  • Prepares and maintains purchasing files and reports,
  • Runs expedite reports as required,
  • Assist Contracts with RFPs and Contracts documentation,
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or as assigned by the department head.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED),
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience in Supply Chain management preferred,
  • Proficient user of Google Suite of products and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook,
  • Experience SAP S4 Hana ERP system or similar ERP system. is considered an asset,
  • Possess a valid Class 5/7N British Columbia driver’s license and have access to personal transportation.

  • Able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills,
  • Able to perform manual and clerical work accurately under minimal supervision,
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts,
  • Details and results-oriented with the ability to multi-task, and adhere to deadlines,
  • Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities,
  • Required to meet pre-employment testing requirements,
  • Demonstrate the eligibility to work in Canada.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals,
  • Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required,
  • Work is performed in a combination of environments,
  • This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes, and oils,
  • Frequently noisy working environment,
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Rate of Pay $65K - $67K / annum
