About the role
As a 309-A electrician specializing in residential service, you will excel in electrical installations, possess exceptional customer service skills, and demonstrate proficiency in generating solutions tailored to customer needs. Your ability to interpret and understand the underlying objectives of customer requests will be vital to providing the level of customer service our clients expect.
The work scope can include knob and tube removal, home rewiring, panel changes, service changes, and installations such as fixtures, generators and electric vehicle chargers.

Role and Responsibilities
- Always represent Kraun with professionalism and consistently demonstrate SPARK values
- Install wiring, conduits, raceways, cables, light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, brackets, boxes and other electrical components
- Install & energize equipment related to power distribution, such as panels, circuits, transformers, relays, etc.
- Diagnose/Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and develop/implement practical solutions
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
- Adhere to safety protocols, guidelines and best practices to minimize and eliminate the risk of accidents and ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others
- Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of tools and equipment, ensuring Company-provided tools are organized and stored securely to maximize efficiency and minimize loss/theft.
- Supervise & train others as required
- Complete tasks and assignments within the set measurables/goals
- Comply with all company policies, including no performing electrical work outside of Kraun Electric
- Foster a positive work environment where team members feel safe and productive, and that they matter
- Meet with customers, providing electrical solutions and same-day quotations and installations
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hour emergency calls
- Ensure interactions and installations are in compliance with the documented Kraun Experience
- Ensure resources (labour, material, equipment, etc.) are adequate
- Complete reports and submissions in a timely fashion with appropriate details (e.g. billing details, timecards, daily logs, safety documentation)
- Build and maintain effective relationships with various parties such as inspectors, owners, and other trades
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements

309-A Electrician (Construction & Maintenance) License in Good Standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
-
Ontario G License in Good Standing - must provide a clean 3-year Drivers' Abstract

Must pass a background screening, which includes reference checks and the provision of an annual clean criminal reference check
Preferred Skills

Minimum two years of experience as an electrician in residential environments (occupied and unoccupied)

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Excellent knowledge and comprehension of Electrical Safety Authority code, building code, and other related codes

Working conditions include but are not limited to:

Outdoor Work: You will be required to work outdoors, where you will be exposed to various weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind.

Height: The job will involve working at heights, such as climbing ladders and scaffolds or working on elevated platforms.

Confined Spaces: You must work in tight, confined spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, or utility tunnels.

Lifting and Carrying: The position will require lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy items and equipment weighing over 50 pounds, such as conduit, wiring, tools, and machinery.

Uneven Terrain: Electricians may need to navigate and work on uneven terrain, including construction sites, unfinished buildings, and outdoor landscapes.

Physical Demands: The job involves physical exertion and stamina to perform tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking flights of stairs for extended periods.

Noise and Vibrations: The work environment will involve exposure to loud noises from machinery and equipment and vibrations from power tools and heavy machinery.

Safety Gear: Compliance with safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots is mandatory.

Flexible Schedule: Depending on project deadlines and client requirements, the job may require working evenings, weekends, or overtime.
