The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety has career opportunities for motivated professionals to provide rehabilitation and case management direction and support for offender programs in adult and youth Corrections within a geographic region. We are seeking a respectful, culturally aware individual to support Correction’s mission and values by providing conscientious, dependable service as part of the Offender Services Branch within the Supervision and Rehabilitation Services Division.

As a Clinical Director, and a member of a dynamic team of professionals, you will work closely with Custody Services and Community Corrections directors, supervisors, service delivery staff, and key community stakeholders throughout the province to establish effective rehabilitative program services for youth and adult offenders. To do so, you must have the ability to think and act strategically while providing expert knowledge and leadership in assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation, as well as provide direction and oversight to the management of case plans for offenders with complex needs.

The knowledge and abilities required for this position would typically be acquired through a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in the human services. This would include graduate-level training with a focus on human development, learning, behaviour, and behaviour change. Key competencies for this position include graduate-level knowledge of both normal and maladaptive development and behaviour, supervised experience with behavioural assessment processes and associated tools, graduate-level supervised research experience, and the ability to formulate intervention plans based upon this information. Your personal management style must exemplify respect, consultation, and collaboration, and a desire to learn and grow professionally. You must have excellent interpersonal skills to work well with stakeholders, partners, and as part of a team.

Applying research and evaluation expertise, you will conduct quantitative and qualitative reviews of existing programs and will develop corresponding strategies to improve service delivery. This will include developing and delivering core service group training and follow-up, in-service workshops, as well as certification oversight in key areas of service delivery. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will contribute to achieving the goals and objectives of the team and the Ministry.
