About the role

Description:
You used to watch Cheers and appreciated the kind of place people could go to where everyone knew their name! You enjoy the atmosphere of a small, cozy pub environment and know how to ensure your patrons have a great time!

Essential Functions:

  • Set-up and clean-up of the pub as set out by supervisor’s guidelines.
  • Check identification to ensure that minors do not enter premises.
  • Serve guests in an efficient friendly manner to exceed their expectations.
  • Responsible for all cash transactions properly tracked using the Profitek POS system. Responsible for opening and closing inventories.
  • Possess knowledge of basic safety practices to include knife handling, wet floors, handling intoxicated guests, etc.
  • Pick-up and preparation of food items. Proper use of kitchen utensils including pizza oven. Proper cleaning procedures used.
  • Be aware of how liquor and food costing work and affects the outlet.
  • Monitor inventories, revenues, labour costs, food cost and overall profitability.
  • Keep Bars Manager informed of status.
  • Ensure food quality and guest service in all products and areas.
  • Work with Bars Manager in developing and implementing pub concepts, activities, specials, advertising, and marketing plans.

Experience/Requirements:

  • Secondary Education Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience required, restaurant serving experience preferred.
  • Serving It Right certificate, service orientated, knowledge of POS system, cash handling, outgoing and guest orientated.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on feet for 9-10 hour shifts
