Calgary Location: City Dispatch
The successful candidate will follow a modified work schedule of Working Monday Tuesday Wednesday. Off Thursday Friday- Working every second weekend.ch day.
Shift is 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM
About the position:
- Matching drivers, trucks, and trailers to orders based on load requirements and qualifications while optimizing fleet resources and ensuring proper utilization
- Assigning work based on Hours of Service, Driver Schedules, Equipment Needs, Routing
- Arranging for equipment to be available for fleet maintenance
- Ensuring all load special instructions are communicated effectively to affected drivers
- Taking customer orders by phone, email, and fax and enter orders to the TMW system and provide confirmation of order to the customer
- Managing product (tank) levels and confirm inventory levels utilizing in house software system, identifying any conflicting information for review
- Communicating with drivers on any deviations with planned loads
- Proactively providing delivery status updates and identifying any changing plans with customers timely
- Knowledge of City geography required
What you bring:
- Previous demonstrated experience in forecasting, manpower allocation and scheduling proficiencies, must be able to plan and foresee potential issues, flexible with frequent changes in customer needs
- Experience with windows-based programs is required; TMW experience is an asset – must be computer literate and savvy
- High level of communication skills; both verbal and written
- Superior customer service minded with demonstrated skills
- Must have strong organizational, and interpersonal as well as the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to maintain a sense of humor and composure in challenging situations and not be frustrated when the plans change
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, requiring initiative and ambition
