JOB SUMMARY

Assists with planning and researching for the development of process improvements, and process re-engineering opportunities to enhance existing, and/or create, design, introduce and implement new processes for customers, clients and business.

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)

  • Works with other Departments in business process planning, research, design and implementation. Gathers, documents, analyzes, identifies and recommends opportunities within business processes.

  • Provides input into the implementation of new and/or existing products and services, including assistance on business process development, integration with existing processes/systems/tools.

  • Uses SaskTel standard process tools and methodology to understand, optimize, and develop, new and existing processes. Gathers new and pertinent information to create communication including procedural documentation, pre-shift, knowledge management documentation, and team meeting presentations.

  • Researches and analyzes new and emerging technologies and their implications to SaskTel Internal projects systems, processes and services.

  • Responsible for implementing new service launches, enhancements and exits.

  • Makes Gathers requirements, administers the testing process, compiling results, reporting and support tool integration Facilitates and coordinates implementation teams and activities.

  • Develops, reviews, and delivers training and knowledge management documentation to trainers and users.

  • Makes recommendations with departmental process alignment to Corporate initiatives targeted at establishing, refining or aligning business processes.

  • Creates implementation plans for process improvement to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost of operations.

  • Identifies opportunities to reduce operating expense budgets for specific projects and for the Department as a whole.

  • Resolves business process continuity issues for various corporate project teams by utilizing recognized business process improvement criteria.

  • Engages various departmental support and resources to implement new business processes and support business systems across the corporation.

  • Consults with departmental Managers to establish measurements and benchmarks. Incorporates measurements into the departmental metrics package.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Electronics Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or Computer Science combined with 1 year of current experience in an engineering, sales, operation or administrative role OR Post-secondary classes in Electronics Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or Computer Science combined with 2 years of current experience in an engineering, sales, operation or administrative role OR Level 30 Math or English combined with 3 years of current experience in an engineering, sales, operation or administrative role.

  • Thorough knowledge of processes, procedures, and/or systems in one or more of the following areas:
    a) Astra
    b) Siebel
    c) Simon
    d) iWS
    e) iWD Manager
    f) Customer Center
    g) OSM
    h) Mainframe
    i) ALM
    j) CLICKSOFT
    k) Optius / Odin

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence others.

  • Working knowledge of project management concepts and techniques.

  • Working knowledge of corporate business process concepts and techniques.

  • Ability to plan, design and implement processes to meet corporate business needs.

  • Working knowledge of personal computers and various software applications.

  • Ability to plan and organize in self-directed and team environments.

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
