Scale Attendant (Aggregates) – Casual
Location: Ottawa and surrounding Area

The Scale House Attendant responsible for the day-to-day operations of weighing all internal and external trucks. This position is an hourly position and works closely with Dispatch, other Scale Attendants, Loader Operators, Sales team, and Fleet. This is an hourly position with the expectation of working casual hours, which may consist of 1-4 shifts per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weigh internal and external customer trucks using Fast-Weigh system according to standard operating procedures to check/tare in trucks and produce weigh-bill/tickets for shipments of materials in an accurate and timely manner.
- Follow the daily dispatch truck report to identify and communicate changes/improvements to Dispatch aiming to minimize delivery delays to the customer.
- Proactively communicate customer, trucking and system issues with dispatch, scale lead, sales, and aggregate administrator to ensure timely resolution.
- Collect payment for Cash Sales and follow Cash Sale procedures.
- Communicate with foreman/supervisors as needed to facilitate their changing needs in products required and jobs/phases/cost codes.
- Set up new trucks with accurate information including Vendor Name, Gross Allowable Weights, etc.
- Administer Internal (Pit-Pit) transfers utilizing internal transfer guidelines.
- May be required to work at different scale locations throughout the year.
Requirements:
- Prior customer service experience is required
- Knowledge of commercial trucks would be considered an asset
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
