We are currently recruiting for the following role in our Toronto office:
Corporate Law Clerk Essential Functions
- Draft documents relating to Ontario, Federal and not-for-profit corporations, including incorporations, amendments, continuations and dissolutions, and relating to business names, extra provincial registrations and limited partnerships
- Assist with the preparation of annual maintenance documents including ISC information/transparency register filings Ontario, Federal and extra provincial entities
- Draft documents relating to simple share and asset transactions
- Conducting minute book reviews, preparation of minute book review memos and drafting documents to correct minute book deficiencies
- Communicate directly with clients at the direction of lawyers
- Independently manage files
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years corporate law clerk experience at a major Canadian law firm
- Diploma in Law Clerk studies from an accredited Ontario college or completion of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certification
- Experience working in a corporate database
- Professionalism and ability to interact and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, handle a fast-paced work environment and to deliver a high quality of work
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and be a strong team player
