We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CPA student to join our Accounting team. As a CPA Student/Financial Analyst in our team, you will provide a high degree of specialized support to Directors and Corporate Managers in the areas of Accounting and Reporting. This includes conducting detailed and complex analysis and research of financial information and other non-financial data to support those activities. You will guide and liaise with Corporate and Network Finance and Administration in order to gather information to support the results of their analysis. You will also conduct analysis to ensure adherence to policies and practices for accounting and internal controls, identify deviations and make recommendations for changes.
You will conduct detailed analysis of financial and non-financial data to support:
- The monthly and quarterly financial statements for Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
- The financial statements in the Annual Report of the Corporation.
- The annual attest audit and quarterly specified procedures.
- Compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- The accounting and the financial disclosures for specific transactions.
- The special reports for other external agencies.
You will liaise with Corporate, Regional and Network Finance and Administration staff to obtain additional information and/or to clarify issues and figures contained in submitted financial reports as well as provide specialized advice to all Finance & Administration offices in matters pertaining to accounting and financial reporting.
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
- Enrolled in the CPA PEP or planning to enroll shortly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- One to two years of experience in related field.
- Knowledge and experience in areas of financial reporting and accounting.
- Fluently bilingual in French and English.
- Ability to understand and interpret the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Capacity to interpret and reorganize data and information for presentation to management, in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, despite frequent interruptions.
