Position Summary:
The Payroll Analyst will support payroll operations with a primary focus on the Year-End Payroll Process, system updates and regulatory compliance at Runnymede Healthcare Centre. The analyst will report to the Director Finance, collaborate within internal and external partners (e.g. HOOPP, CRA, CCIM) to ensure the seamless execution of payroll activities, audits, and reconciliations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing support in year-end payroll processing for approximately 500 employees, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
- Aiding in the quarterly/year-end reconciliation of general ledger payroll liability accounts and the fiscal year-end audit, as well as investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Participating in preparation of materials for external/internal auditors and responding to requests from auditors.
- Coordinating year-end processes for T4, T4A, or T2200 forms, WSIB, and EHT annual returns.
- Prepare and submit Public Sector salary disclosure reports
- Taking responsibility for HOOPP validation and year-end MDC reporting.
- Assisting with government reporting or online filings, such as CRA, Statistics Canada, Service Canada.
- Update tax and deduction tables and new payroll year configuration
- Maintaining payroll processes and documentation for best practices, compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications/experience:
- National Payroll Institute, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification required
- Completion of a 4-year post-secondary qualification or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in full payroll/benefit administration (experience in unionized environment an asset)
- Knowledge Canadian payroll regulations (provincial health tax, workers’ compensation, defined benefit pension plans, and employment standards)
- Proficiency in payroll systems (CCIM/HRIS/Oracle/Workday)
- Demonstrated understanding of legal regulations with regards to a hospital setting
- Strong attention to detail, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office

About Runnymede Healthcare Centre
Runnymede Healthcare Centre is a 206-bed rehabilitation and complex continuing care hospital, dedicated to restoring patients' independence. The construction of Runnymede Long-Term Care, a separate facility adjacent to the hospital, is nearing completion. We’re also launching Canada’s first PTSI Centre of Excellence, which will provide specialized care for First Responders and frontline healthcare workers experiencing post-traumatic stress injuries.
