INDUSTRIAL MECHANIC

Horseshoe Bay

The opportunity

We are seeking a mechanic to join our team at the Horseshoe Bay Terminal.

Reporting to the Trades Supervisor, Industrial Mechanics are responsible for:

  • Interpret and/ or prepare drawings, material requirements for layout installation, maintenance, serving and inspection
  • Perform installation, repairs and service work to equipment
  • Assembly, rigging and hoisting of equipment and components
  • Performs lubrication service work and installation of systems
  • Performs, on occasion, welding and cutting, and fluid power duties
  • Travel to offsite locations, transporting equipment and providing service/ maintenance work
  • Familiarizes and guides other trades employees on Industrial Mechanics and operations of Industrial Mechanical Systems; acts as a subject matter resource on mechanical drawings and systems
  • Performs additional duties including communicating with suppliers and vendors regarding parts and equipment
  • May provide orientation, guidance and informal training to other employees
  • Other related duties as may be assigned from time to time

What you bring to the team

  • In-depth understanding of Industrial Mechanics.
  • Familiarity with WCB regulations and safe working practices.
  • Proficient in relevant materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive.
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and cultivate cooperative working relationships.

Education

  • ITA Certificate of Qualification
  • Inter-provincial Red Seal Endorsement (Industrial Mechanic)
  • Current Valid BC Drivers License Class 5
  • Occupational First aid, and Forklift Operator Certificate are an asset.
