This position is fulltime and in-office.

Position Overview:
As our Human Resources Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping our organizational culture and supporting our dedicated staff. Your expertise in HR best practices will enhance our team's performance, cultivate a culture of inclusivity, and ensure that Interval House of Hamilton remains a model workplace for all. If you are knowledgeable and experienced about HR policies, employee relations, and employee development, we want to hear from you!
Applicants must bring HR experience and competence in human resource activities including payroll administration, performance management, accommodation planning, employee recruitment, and working within a unionized workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and deliver human resource strategies that support IHOH’s vision, mission and values and, where possible, best practices.
- Efficiently develop, update, and maintain the organizational policies and procedures ensuring legislative compliance and collective agreement alignment.
- Administration of payroll, including calculating wage increases.
- Lead workplace investigations, accommodations, and employee performance management.
- Responsible for full cycle recruitment, from job postings to onboarding training.
- Document and manage all employee information files and other HR files.
- Maintain the HR Information System to onboard employees, providing training, and tracking employee data and certifications through this platform.
· Oversight and back up for payroll processing and data entry while adhering to the current collective agreement and relevant payroll related legislation, coordinating union and benefit provider payments as needed.
- Onboard and orient eligible staff to the employee benefit package.
- Develop initiatives to improve employee morale and retention including wellness programs and events.
- Using a key performance indicator (KPI) as an evaluation tool, review data and ensure program outcomes meet established targets.
- As a certified JHSC representative, provide leadership in the agency’s health and safety programs and strategies, including co-chairing the JHSC meeting.
- Lead and participate in all matters related to workplace injury prevention, workplace injury, WSIB maters, and IHOH’s Early and Safe Return to Work program.
- Support the relationship between employees and management through excellent conflict resolution skills, negotiation, mentoring, and problem-solving.
- Maintain all required HR related union reporting such as seniority lists, and documentation for labour management meetings.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in HR Management, related field, or equivalent experience. CHRP or CHRL designation an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressively more responsible HR roles, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
- Knowledgeable and competent in relevant employment legislation.
- Demonstrated experience with labour relations, collective bargaining, and health and safety program administration.
- Ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
- Fully literate in Microsoft Office Suite, HR Downloads and EZLabour.
- Experience working in a politically sensitive environment.
- Keen interest in working with and for diverse populations, providing support through an intersectional feminist framework.
- Valid driver's license and access to an insured (minimum $2,000,000 liability coverage), roadworthy vehicle or alternate ability to meet the travel requirements of this position.
- Valid certification in First Aid/CPR +AED and ASIST. Completion of WHMIS, Bill 168, AODA, Occupational Health and Safety training.
- Original copy of Police Criminal Record Check for Vulnerable Sector clearance and ability to meet the requirements of the vulnerable sector standards for employment by IHOH.
- Able to meet the IHOH COVID-19 vaccination policy requirements.
- Fluency in French or a second language is an asset, but not required
