Job Summary
Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative person to join our unique program that prepares secondary students with intellectual challenges for lives of success. You would provide teaching and support to a small group of students in the classroom, under the direction of the Principal or Executive Director.
Duties:

Plan and teach engaging classroom lessons based on our proprietary curriculum of foundation skills

Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to the unique needs of our learners

Teach students life skills such as cooking and shopping etc.

Shape and facilitate student’s independence in the classroom

Facilitate the development of student’s social skills, conversations and friendships

Develop Key Goals Documents and Progress Reports

Assess students' skills and abilities in various curriculum and life skills areas
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field preferred- Several years experience in teaching or related field

Experience working with people (kids or adults) with intellectual challenges, learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, etc.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to inspire, lead and motivate students
