Roles and Responsibilities

Tillsonburg Custom Foods has an opening available for a Controller to join our growing company. Come work with our incredible and talented finance team.

• Timely preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reporting packages. Ensuring that the financial statements are accurate and in accordance with statutory requirements;
• Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition;
• Supervise and review the preparation of the general ledger and including review of journal entries and bank reconciliations to ensure that financial reports and statements are accurate;
• Review and participate in submission of all statutory income tax filings including HST returns;
• Submit HST returns on monthly basis;
• Manage foreign currency risk;
• Responsible for inter-company accounts;
• Prepare financial analysis to assist management in various business engagements;
• Assist in the management of day to day banking and preparation of daily cash flow;
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances;
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting;
• Review and assist in payroll and T4 functions as required;
• Provide assistance and respond to queries from senior management; and
• Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
• Answer external auditor inquires;
• Monthly closing;
• Microsoft dynamics is an asset;
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• University Degree, Major in Accounting, College Diploma, Major in Accounting or equivalent work experience (minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting role)
• Advance computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong time-management skills demonstrated through successfully undertaking multiple priorities at one time
• Well-developed knowledge of accounting principles and best practices, specifically in the areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, month and year end processing
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with teammates
• Actively contribute to a positive, collaborative work culture through professional communication with all departments and teammates
• Self-starter and strong attention to detail
• Ability to define and solve problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts and draw conclusions

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
