Work arrangement: Hybrid, 2-3 times per week onsite

Reports To: Vice President of Finance

Reason for vacancy: Existing vacancy

Expected hiring salary range: $95,000-110,000 annually. Offered salary will be determined through an internal review process.

Primary Purpose:

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in delivering strategic financial insights and analytical support to senior leadership, contributing to the organization's fiscal strength and long-term growth. This position is responsible for leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to ensure alignment with overall business objectives. The role also focuses on identifying opportunities to optimize costs, enhance revenue, and manage financial risks while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst works closely with the finance team to inform strategic decision-making and support initiatives that enhance financial performance and operational effectiveness.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of the annual budget and conduct detailed financial analyses, including budget-to-actual variance reporting.
  • Develop quarterly forecasts for the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
  • Create financial models to assess long-term growth scenarios and their potential impacts.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports with comprehensive variance analysis for senior management.
  • Assess and recommend updates to existing financial policies in collaboration with business units and corporate functions; ensure all related documentation is current and reviewed annually.
  • Design and present performance reports that provide clear insights into organizational financial and operational outcomes for varied stakeholder groups.
  • Analyze and communicate departmental performance drivers and results to management.
  • Provide timely, data-driven insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of fair and transparent cost allocation methodologies, ensuring clear communication and addressing stakeholder feedback.
  • Collaborate with the VP, Finance and the finance team to identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and enhance value for internal partners.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across all levels and functions.
  • Support ad hoc and strategic initiatives or special projects assigned by the VP, Finance.
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of internal and external audit activities.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • CPA or equivalent accounting designation preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs); ability to design spreadsheets and streamline processes
  • Strong background in advanced financial modeling
  • Demonstrates a high sense of urgency and commitment to delivering responsive, high-quality service
  • Proven ability to take a hands-on approach and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Experience in international business or the education sector is an asset; exposure to M&A or acquisition integration (particularly in FP&A) is desirable
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in developing financial reports, dashboards, and performance metrics
