We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director, Commercial Mortgage Origination. We are looking for someone who can utilize their detailed knowledge of the commercial mortgage industry, conditions management, regulatory compliance, and sound decision-making skills to adjudicate mortgage applications originated and employ strong solution-focused communication skills - someone who can take a leading approach working directly with senior management to expand the mortgage origination pipeline for the firm and deploy new capital commitments.

As a Director, Commercial Mortgage Origination

with Clifton Blake, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a network of key contacts and resources to originate new lending opportunities on commercial real estate for Clifton Blake’s proprietary funds.

Key Responsibilities:

●      Analyze business opportunities and develop new sales strategies to maintain continuity, growth, and attainment of targets by identifying, developing and maintaining relationships with real estate developers, commercial mortgage brokers, bankers and other referral sources.

●      Work within an end-to-end mortgage underwriting process to manage the client through application, commitment, and condition fulfillment.

●      Verify, validate, and adjudicate mortgage applications within established guidelines.

●      Ensure appropriate due diligence has been completed prior to issuing a mortgage commitment.

●      Maintain accuracy in times of high work volume and with short deadlines.

●      Actively seek out and share information regarding market changes and competitive activity that is utilized to develop key market strategies as well as legislative changes.

●      Maintain a positive working relationship with different Clifton Blake departments, brokers, customers, solicitors, all insurers, and third-party professionals.

Experience Required:

●      A post-secondary education in a related field.

●      A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial mortgage origination, preferably with another private lender.

●      Strong grasp of commercial underwriting practices.

●      Strong relationship management skills including the ability to establish and maintain a network of key contacts and resources.

●      Solid experience with credit analysis and risk mitigation.

●      Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to provide flexible solutions to our clients.

●      Strong analytical, problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

●      Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and time management skills.
