Health & Safety Supervisor - South YMCA Calgary locations - Seton, Remington, and Shawnessy
Salary: $47,829 - $59,786 annually
Start Date: Immediately

What qualifications are we looking for?

At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following;

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in administration and supervision.

Competent computer skills including Word and Excel and able to learn new systems quickly.
Able to multi-task and demonstrate strong time-management skills.
Knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulation and Code.

Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Hire, train, support, and provide continual supervision and feedback to the Duty Manager teams within the respective region.
Manage the part-time duty manager certifications and trainings in accordance with YMCA Calgary Policy and Procedures.
Develop shift schedules and payroll approval for all part-time Duty Managers, operating within budget allocations.
May be required to perform Duty Manager shifts providing excellent customer service, maintaining facility security and safety, and leading the emergency response when required.

Reliable transport required to travel to regional and association facilities.

Participate in association wide workgroups and committees.

Support with the delivery of Health, Safety and Risk training for the Duty Managers and the association.
Responsible for the coordination and execution of incident follow up within designated region, this may include supporting with internal investigations.

Support and implement monthly drills and safety inspections, identifying and reporting any deficiencies and corrective actions.
Ensure any corrective actions or deficiencies are assigned and completed in a timely manner.
Act as Health and Safety lead for regional facilities and provide support and follow up.
Responsible for the ordering and maintenance of facility first aid and health and safety equipment and supplies.
