TEMPORARY 1.0 FTE TEACHER LIBRARIAN & REMEDY TEACHER GOLD RIVER WORKSITE Effective September 1, 202 5 to June 30, 2026 __________________________________________________________________________
Teaching assignment may include, but may not be limited to:
- Teacher Librarian and Remedy Support for Kindergarten to Grade 12
Teacher Librarian Position including prep coverage (this is 0.50 FTE) The Successful Candidate Will :
- have an exemplary work ethic, effective communication skills and a proven ability to work as an effective team member to ensure success in this setting;
- be committed to being an advocate for students;
- possess outstanding skills in building student rapport;
- provide a significant collaborative leadership role;
- model and support the development of 21st century literacies (including digital and information);
- provide coaching and mentoring for wise and effective instructional and assessment practices;
- develop, evaluate and expand innovative District resources and online Destiny library system
- be able and willing to work in a technologically rich education environment;
- use research based reading and writing instructional and assessment strategies;
- incorporate technology information literacy skills into the library program;
- select and obtain resources, both print and electronic, onsite and remote access;
- be familiar with copyright and site licensing;
- be willing to display a high level of communication, flexibility and collaboration;
- strong skills as a problem solver;
- strong skills in conflict resolution;
- deal meaningfully with differentiated student learning styles and demonstrate an ability to address individual student needs;
- provide a hands-on, active classroom experience for student learning, including the use of distributed learning;
- commit to supporting the school's goal to improve student literacy, and be familiar with and knowledgeable about current Literacy practices, including reading intervention strategies, assessment and evaluation techniques, best practices, and curriculum surrounding literacy;
- commit to the District's and school's goals to improve the success of First Nations students;
- communicate with parents and guardians;
- be willing and flexible to teach other subjects;
- be willing and able to travel throughout the District, when required;
- be physically capable to perform the duties of this position.
Essential Qualifications :
- BC Certified and qualified with a Master's Degree/Diploma in Teacher-Librarianship;
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
- Successful experience in supporting individual student learning in a multi-grade classroom.

- Successful teaching of Math, Science, Social Studies, and English at the Secondary Level, Grades 8-12
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's license.
- Successful experience in supporting individual student learning in a multi-grade classroom.
