Nurse Practitioner - Westshore Urgent and Primary Care Centre (100-2349)

Island Health has exciting opportunities for Nurse Practitioners to work in Langford at the Westshore Urgent and Primary Care Center.

These are new positions within the clinic and offer the opportunity to build your own panel.

Located in the bustling community of the City of Langford, the Westshore UPCC is a bright clinic, offering turn-key operation.

Island Health looks forward to supporting primary care providers and the health care team to provide innovative primary care services that are at the forefront of primary care improvement in BC. Modeled after best practices, primary care providers will have the opportunity to optimize data from the clinic information system to improve patient care.

There is a requirement to establish a minimum panel to provide culturally safe longitudinal primary care. Patient visits will consist of scheduled longitudinal or same day primary care patient visits.

As the most responsible primary care provider, after hours’ care for patients is inherent in the services. The Nurse Practitioner will participate in an after-hours call group, sharing after-hours coverage with other primary care providers (Family Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners) at the clinic.

The City of Langford is one of several West Shore municipalities and the commercial centre of the West Shore and features many of the amenities that neighbouring municipal residents seek.

Located on the southern end of Vancouver Island, Langford enjoys warm, dry summers, and mild, wet winters with a frost-free season of approximately 202 days. Langford's spectacular views of West Shore and Victoria, the Juan de Fuca Strait, and Olympic Mountains are visible all year long. The City of Langford may be only 41.46 square kilometres but contains three lakes (Florence, Glen, and Langford), the gorgeous Goldstream Provincial Park, and large portions of Mill Hill, Mount Wells, and Thetis Lake Regional Parks. Numerous urban parks and fairgrounds dot our cityscape and play host to festivals large and small.
