About the role
Under the general direction of the Manager of Streets Maintenance, the Supervisor of Neighborhood Action Team (NAT) is responsible for the program planning, work scheduling, supervision, monitoring and reporting on the work of NAT Members to ensure the effective service delivery of the Neighborhood Action Team activities.
As the Supervisor of Neighborhood Action Teams**, you will:**
- Plan, organize, schedule, assign, monitor and evaluate the annual work program to optimize productivity, effectiveness, and ensure it falls within budget guidance.
- Act as a liaison of the division by coordinating and attending meetings, and preparing reports, correspondence, statistical data and operating procedures to communicate to management, council, and the general public.
- Evaluate and manage staff through job expectations, performance appraisals, coaching, work performance feedback, progressive discipline and other related human resource functions to ensure operational goals are achieved.
- Enforce compliance with established safety legislation, regulations and policies for the protection of all employees, self, the general public, property, and equipment.
- Manage the various fleet of equipment of the branch to ensure the proper equipment is available for employees and that it is utilized properly by coordinating with Fleet Management and Field Support Services.
Your education and qualifications include:

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology with Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) Designation.

4 years of relevant operational experience in Roadway Maintenance.

Experience leading, supervising and developing employees in a large, unionized organization.

Experience developing, managing, evaluating and improving program delivery.

Knowledge of collective agreements.
-
Effective verbal communication skills.

Strong written communication skills.

Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload and the workload of employees.

Knowledge and understanding of the occupational hazards, safety precautions, regulations and procedures applicable to the area of work.

Effective customer service skills with strong political acumen.

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts and the public.
