About the role
National Account Manager - Eastern Canada
On behalf of our Canadian based ingredient supply client supporting the OTC, prescription and nutraceutical products industry we are seeking a National Account Sales Manager to support clients in Eastern Canada. This role can be based in Toronto, Ottawa, or Montreal.
Reporting to the executive Vice President of Sales, this role drives the success of the sales department managing key accounts, fostering client relationships and driving growth. Additionally, the National Account Manager will contribute to the development and execution of sales programs, aligning strategies with company goals and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.
Some of what you will do includes:
- Develop and implement a sustainable, profitable business model for the company’s Canadian customers.
- Create account sales plans, manage budgeting, and develop strategic approaches to achieve revenue targets.
- Contribute to sales forecasting by analyzing market trends and historical data to drive growth and decision-making.
- Exceed sales and profit objectives annually, growing customer share and distribution points.
- Provide business, sales, advertising, and educational support to key accounts in the Canadian market.
- Negotiate terms, develop proposals, and manage contractual agreements with new and existing accounts, ensuring strong financial outcomes.
- Ensure consistent coverage of key accounts based on agreed frequencies.
- Coordinate account and market activities, including launches, communications, and key metrics with departments like Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain.
- Act as an internal account champion, ensuring clear, regular communication across key company stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and specialty areas to effectively meet account requirements.
- Present solutions and information professionally, tailoring approaches to each account’s needs.
- Identify and pursue unique sales, marketing, and operational opportunities for each assigned account.
- Develop and maintain strong executive relationships with suppliers and distributors.
- Coordinate account and market reviews, analyzing key metrics, best practices, and key learnings for assigned distribution.
You should have the following capabilities to apply for the role:
- Proven experience in Business-to-Business (B2B) sales with a track record of success.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly in Excel for data management, as well as proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics + sales tools.
- Basic understanding of market tracking information, including Nielsen data.
- Previous experience in Key Account management.
- Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
- Valid driver's license and passport, with the ability to travel up to 50% of the time and occasionally internationally.
