About the role
CNC Mill/Lathe Journeyman
Wage: $35-$45
Position Type: Full Time
PRIMARY ROLE: Machining of various parts from 2D drawings or solid model files, verifying material and tooling requirements, optimizing and executing CNC programs for maximum production on CNC lathes/mills. Setup for production runs. Programming using Mastercam for milling machines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setting up , and running the machine as well as other machines in the area.
- Inspecting parts and making sure that quality standards are being met and recorded.
- Responsible for selecting and identifying tooling, and setting feeds and speeds of cutting tools for CNC machines. Setting up machines for other operators for production runs.
- Working closely with other employees and management to improve processes.
- Adhere to Safety, Quality and Production policies.
- Must be able to work independently and aide other employees as required
- Select and identify tooling, and setting of feeds and speeds to optimize machining processes for CNC machines.
- Comfortable operating a forklift.
- Experience with Mastercam is a bonus.
Required Experience:
- Up to 10 years of relevant experience (References required)
- Experience required with Haas Mills and Hermle and their controls.
- Experience setting up Fanuc based and Okuma Lathes
- Must be able to set up and program CNCs independently.
- Must be able to edit G code.
- Must be able to use precision measuring tools accurately.
- Successful candidate will possess problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Good communication, organizational and planning skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated.
- Ability to communicate and write using the English language
Experience:
- CNC machining: Up to 10 years (Required)

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
