Job Overview Responsible for the execution of new products/equipment from concept to commercialization. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for product and process improvements to the overall business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead effective commercialization of new products through plant trial validations
- Coordinate trial schedules and product requirements
- Record trial observations and critical parameters required to establish a consistent product
- Assist Production in trouble shooting any product related issues and recommend solutions and update documentation to reflect changes in product information or processes
- Ensure quality and specification compliance for new product launches.
- Monitor first production runs
- Coordinate any changes in product information or processes to all stakeholders and updates documents as needed
- Provide technical expertise and oversight
- Provide PD and operations technical guidance on processes and troubleshooting on product related issues
- Provide Engineers technical assistance in testing products using new processes and equipment
- Responsible for continuous improvement projects
- Handle raw material substitution and process improvement projects
The Recipe For Success
- Completion of college diploma in Food Science or a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in a as a Quality Assurance, Product Developer, Baker, or Pastry Chef
- Previous experience working within the Food Manufacturing industry
- Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, GFSI (BRC, SQF) and Food Allergens
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial bakery ingredients, production processes and equipment capability
- Have good working knowledge of word, excel, power point and outlook
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize task, delegate and follow up
- Ability to lead, work independently, and in a team environment
