Under the direction of the Manager of Early Childhood Education Programs, the incumbent will deliver and develop ECE curriculum using diverse instructional strategies and the Brightspace (D2L) learning platform. They will be responsible for delivering courses and contributing to the development of programming. The incumbent will provide early childhood education curriculum expertise to students and incorporate examples of ECE programming in Nunavut into classroom instruction.

The role also involves assisting the Manager in organizing and coordinating the ECE program and schedule, including student practicums and on-site evaluations. Additionally, the incumbent will support student recruitment, registration, and educational counselling. Some travel is required, as the Applied ECE Certificate is delivered in communities outside of Iqaluit.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (e.g., Education, Psychology, Social Work), along with a minimum of two years’ experience teaching adults at the post-secondary level, and at least two years of professional experience in early childhood development (Nunavut experience preferred). Experience with online learning platforms, strong communication skills, and familiarity with culturally responsive teaching practices are required.

A Master’s or PhD in Early Childhood Education would be a strong asset. Fluency in both written and oral Inuktut, along with a deep understanding of Inuit cultural traditions, would be a definite asset.
