Student, Program Innovation and Reporting
Number of Openings: 1
Term: September 1st, 2025 to December 19th, 2025, with possibility of extension on a part-time basis
Schedule: 15 hours per week
Location: Ottawa, HQ
Salary: $17.30 to $30.20/hourly rate dependent on level of education
Language requirement: English Essential
- Eligibility List: CATSA will use this opportunity to establish a list of candidates eligible to fill subsequent vacancies. The eligibility list may be used to staff permanent or fixed-term positions with similar responsibilities and qualifications.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze and summarize data that pertains to CATSA operations;
- Merge data files from various sources and prepare them for analysis;
- Perform quality assurance on existing and new data sources and reports;
- Conduct user acceptance testing for Business Intelligence reports and operational data collection systems;
- Performing ad-hoc data analysis upon request;
- Assist with documenting various operational procedures; and,
- Support in planning, monitoring, executing and reporting on operational trials.
- Assist with documenting operational reporting procedures.
What you need to succeed:
To qualify for the position, you must have:
- Enrolled in a college or university degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or any other specialization relevant to the duties of the position;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as SAS, SPSS, Python or R would be an asset;
- Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI would be an asset; and
- Knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts and application.
Skills and Abilities:
- Effective communication skills (both orally and in writing);
- Excellent problem-solving and quantitative analysis skills;
- Excellent research and writing skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Client-centered professional approach to work;
- Willingness to think innovatively about how to approach work tasks;
- Ability to plan, prioritize, multi-task and organize work efficiently;
- Ability to work well in team, independently and under pressure.
To qualify and to be considered for this employment, you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Be a full-time or part-time CEGEP, College or University student; and
- Be returning to full-time or part-time studies in the next academic year.
