Location: Remote – Anywhere in Ontario
Project Overview Project Name: Air Quality Suite Evergreening
To comply with Ontario’s Digital and Data Strategy and Bill 5 (Protect Ontario by Unleashing Our Economy Act 2025), this project focuses on upgrading the full technical stack of Ontario’s mission-critical Air Quality solutions. The current Oracle/APEX/ORDS-based suite runs on Red Hat Linux and is reaching end-of-life support. The solution is being migrated to a modern, secure, and compliant cloud-based infrastructure (target: Microsoft Azure).
Responsibilities
- Lead the assessment of current ("as-is") legacy architecture and design the future-state ("to-be") cloud-ready architecture.
- Provide technical leadership for software upgrades and component migration to supported versions.
- Design cloud-hosted technology solutions aligning with OPS standards and strategic initiatives.
- Track technical delivery details to ensure reliability and solution integrity.
- Facilitate technical sessions, manage Kanban boards (DevOps), and gather requirements.
- Align designs with corporate IT mandates and cost-effective models.
- Support and execute cloud migration strategies using Azure services.
- Provide hands-on support for rationalization, cloud readiness assessments, and orchestration planning.
- Act as a cloud SME across implementation stages (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Must-Have Skills
- Proven experience in assessing legacy architecture and delivering supported cloud-ready solutions.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise cloud migration strategies using Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in cloud strategy creation, migration architecture, and orchestration planning.
- Strong experience in crafting client-facing cloud solutions and presenting to key stakeholders.
- Ability to design architecture, develop roadmaps, and implement migration/transformation plans.
Additional Required Skills
- Experience presenting complex cloud solutions to executive and business stakeholders.
- Capability to embed agile, cloud-native processes in public sector environments.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and drive transformation initiatives.
- Active involvement in business development or internal improvement activities.

- Cloud infrastructure, integration, and networking expertise.
