About the role
Reporting to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, the Senior FP&A Manager plays a key role in driving financial insights and supporting strategic decisions in a fast-paced retail environment. You will lead essential financial processes including reporting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and detailed analysis of period-end results across stores, business units, and support centers. This role is highly collaborative and requires strong business partnering with store operations, merchandising, production centers, and e-commerce teams. The FP&A Manager will develop financial models, ensure accurate reporting, and contribute to the company’s growth by providing actionable recommendations.
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 37 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 14 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of year.
- Lead the preparation of periodic financial reports focused on sales, gross profit, SG&A expenses, and store productivity
- Deliver clear and actionable period-end financial performance analysis, identifying key drivers and variances
- Analyze sales and margin performance across stores, regions, departments, and e-commerce channels
- Oversee financial consolidation across retail locations, production centers, supply chain, e-commerce, and corporate functions
- Support timely, accurate month-end closes with the accounting team, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, partnering with key business units to ensure alignment with operational realities
- Develop and maintain financial models specific to retail, such as sales forecasts, promotional impacts, labor planning, and occupancy costs
- Act as a strategic business partner to Store Operations, Merchandising, Marketing, E-commerce, and supporting teams, offering financial guidance and scenario planning
- Drive financial accountability by creating dashboards and supporting business performance reviews
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the direct reporting manager
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred
- Have at least 5 years of FP&A experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role, preferably within the retail industry
- Possess strong financial modeling, budgeting, and reporting skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and solid working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for business stakeholders
- Be highly self-motivated, organized, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Be flexible to support business needs during peak periods or tight deadlines
- Communicate effectively in English; knowledge of Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is an asset
- Have experience working closely with non-financial teams such as Store Operations, Merchandising, or E-commerce to deliver impactful business outcomes
