AZ Driver (Part Time)
About the role
Job summary: This position has several functions including but not limited to: Shunting of trailers with the Brockville Operations, short haul TL to Wills customers in the Eastern Ontario and New York State Regions. Ensuring the tractor and any accompanying trailers are in good working order and that the equipment is operated safely at all times. You may be asked to do new tasks as they are presented and therefore you are required to be flexible in this position.
Required KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- License as required by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation
- AZ Driver in good standing
- Valid Passport or Fast Card
- Workplace safety training such as WHMIS
- TDG training
- Proficiency in Math and English
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an AZ driver/Shunter
- Desired experience in warehouse or related industry experience
- Standing, walking and manual lifting products (up to 50 lbs) is required
- A positive attitude, and team player
- Ability to follow directions
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized working area
OTHER Information
- Primary job will be shunting coverage Mon - Fri. These shifts are scheduled
- Weekend coverage is paid at an overtime (time and half) rate
- Coverage will run 7:00 am until 5:00 pm
- In addition to the shunting, you would be a backup driver to cover sick or vacation either as a shunter or for local deliveries to Ottawa, Iroquois, Cardinal or Ingleside. This is at regular rate.
- 2-4 shifts per week
- No benefits
- You must be able to pass a drug test (including cannabis)
- Ability to receive minimum Security clearance
- Compensation - $26.25/hr moving to $27.25/hr after 3 months.
