The Aquatics Supervisor assists park management in the training, supervision, and coordination of aquatic staff to ensure the safety and well-being of all park guests. They oversee the management of aquatic Pack Members within their designated areas, enforcing compliance with established rules, regulations, and standards while upholding a professional appearance and conduct. The Aquatics Supervisor consistently enforces park policies and Pack Member procedures to maintain a secure and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Team
- Willingness to accept the most effective role.
- Coordinate aquatic staff rotations and breaks to maintain constant vigilance.
- Administer and oversee emergency first aid as required.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of lifeguards through VAT assessments, observations, and scenario training.
- Continuously review and update emergency procedures.
- Maintain general knowledge of activity pools and flume attractions.
- Foster a professional and safe atmosphere within the waterpark area.
- Enforce rules and apply disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Support recruitment, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and discipline of Pack Members.
- Communicate job expectations clearly and provide timely feedback to promote team success.
- Establish and uphold department standards focused on exceptional service.
- Contribute to departmental and organizational goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and support other departments as needed.
- Close with an open mentality.
- Keep all areas in like-new condition and website ready.
Guest
- Ensure guests are greeted and acknowledged consistently, adhering to the 10/5 Rule.
- Oversees Pack Members in maintaining a clean, well-kept park environment.
- Supervises lifeguards to ensure vigilant swimmer and guest surveillance during park hours and special events.
- Projects a positive public relations image to both Pack Members and guests.
- Engages professionally and courteously with guests on a daily, one-on-one basis.
- Communicate with guests in a professional and friendly manner.
Financial
- Protecting company assets by adhering to policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and documents reports related to guest accidents and water activities.
- Collaborates with management on training programs, recommendations, and Pack Member development.
- Evaluates and implements improvements to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications & Traits
- Holds current certifications in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C or Emergency First Aid & CPR Level B.
- Possesses current NLS certification (valid for 2 years), along with ELLIS and HCP-CPR/Oxygen/AED training.
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
- Lifesaving Society Instructor qualifications are preferred.
- Demonstrates perfect attendance and reliability in handling significant responsibilities.
- Committed to delivering exceptional guest service and exceeding expectations.
- Embraces the brand values by fostering a unique, high-quality service experience.
- Encourages team spirit and collaborates effectively to meet shared goals.
Physical Requirements
- Capable of working in a hot, humid and chlorinated environment
- Standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs.
Additional Requirements
Newly hired Pack Members must submit a completed police clearance to Human Resources. Employment may begin before the results are received, based on the Pack Member’s confirmation that they have no unpardoned criminal convictions. If the clearance reveals a conviction, the employer may terminate employment on a case-by-case basis, providing only the minimum notice required under the Employment Standards Act, 2000, with no additional notice or compensation.
