About the role
Reports to: Plant Manager
Collaborates with: Fabrication, Shipping
Primary Responsibility: This position is responsible for MIG welding, layout, tacking, and fabrication of metal components to meet production standards and specifications. The role requires close coordination with the welding, fabrication, and shipping teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of products.
What You'll Do
- Perform MIG welding on various metal components according to job specifications
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to complete assigned tasks
- Conduct layout and tack welding during the fabrication process
- Debur and grind metal surfaces for proper finish and fit
- Follow quality control procedures and adhere to product specifications
- Ensure strict compliance with welding safety protocols and wear required PPE
- Perform general fabrication and assembly duties as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement and team initiatives
What Qualifies You
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Welding certification from a recognized technical institute preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production welding environment
- Must be eligible for and maintain CWB certification
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Skilled in the use of welding and fabrication tools (grinders, saws, calipers, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. independently; heavier items with team assistance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
