Position Details

The Calgary Writing Centre invites applications for a tutoring position beginning in the Fall 2025 semester with a possibility for a continuing assignment. The Writing Centre tutor will work one-on-one with both undergraduate and graduate students in the development of academic writing skills (planning, organizing, revising, citing, and so forth) either in-person or online.

Related duties, such as the delivery of classroom presentations on the writing process, assistance with promotion of the Writing Centre, and participation in Writing Workshops, may also be assigned on an ad hoc basis.

Hours may vary but are typically Monday to Friday, 245pm to 545pm.

Hourly Rate: $30.00/hour

Position Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess excellent writing, competence in grammar and punctuation (both practical and theoretical), experience in writing academic essays and teaching the process of writing, a positive attitude to student learners, and an ability to work through student challenges (academic and personal) with patience and kindness.
