The Reliability Analyst (Components) will extract and analyze aircraft component reliability data to improve the reliability performance of the Air Canada and Rouge fleets. This position reports to and works in collaboration with the Manager, Component Reliability Improvement in all the activities associated with establishing and managing the Component Reliability Improvement Program.
Responsibilities:
This role will work in collaboration with the Manager, Component Reliability Improvement on the development and management of the Air Canada Component Reliability Program from a maintenance perspective. Routine roles and responsibilities of the Reliability Analyst will include but not be limited to the following:
- Assist with the improvement of the Component Reliability Program intended to monitor the maintenance and reliability performance of the Air Canada and Rouge Fleet components.
- Conduct component in-service and cost performance analyses using collected data.
- Lead recurring meetings with component MROs to address problematic components.
- Evaluate commercial benefit of OEM-approved component design changes, MRO-approved alternate repairs, and approved alternate component piece parts, and make recommendation for disposition.
- Review requirements and commercial benefit of scheduled removals and make recommendation for schedule adjustment, when applicable.
- Make usage of forecast recommendation to Component Maintenance organization when subject to aircraft maintenance program analyses.
- Incorporate changes to component restoration level (work scope) when subject to in-service performance, repair cost analyses, and repair cycle requirements.
- Monitor component in-service performance and repair costs using available automated tools; when necessary, manually collect data. Monitor component No Fault Found rate and make recommendation for reduction.
- Actively participate in the fleet Reliability Working Group meetings and address outcoming action items related to components.
- Liaise with the following Air Canada Business Units: Regulatory Compliance, Line Maintenance, Technical Support Specialists, Maintenance Operations Control, Technical Records, Supply Chain, Maintenance Program Management, Engineering.
- Liaise with Airframe and Component OEMs and MROs.
- Participate in safety-related component analysis and investigations.
Qualifications
- College or university degree in a related field. A background or education in Statistics, Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance would be an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of aircraft component repair experience. Experience in a related or similar field can also be considered.
- A basic working understanding of aircraft systems such as propulsion, hydraulic, electrical, ECS, etc.
- A basic understanding of aircraft maintenance and operations.
- Knowledge of Aircraft and Component Publications (e.g. AMM, IPC, TSM/FIM, CMM, VSB, SIL)
- Knowledge of component repair cycle
- Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with changing priorities and fixed deadlines.
- Enthusiastic and a team player.
- Good knowledge of office software products.
- Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet demanding deadlines.
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
