Position Summary

Our dynamic team is seeking a dedicated Access Privacy Analyst to play a vital role in protecting personal information and ensuring transparency within our division. In this position, you'll work closely with our Access Privacy Officer and Manager of Information Management, becoming a key player in processing access requests, conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), and contributing to our comprehensive Privacy Management Program. Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Process Access Requests: lead and support the processing of access to information requests, ensuring compliance with legislative deadlines and processes, including using ATIP xPress.

  • Develop Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs): create and revise PIAs for a variety of divisional software, platforms, and EdTech tools, with a keen eye on emerging AI implications and notification requirements.

  • Support Privacy Initiatives: assist in the development and maintenance of our Privacy Management Program, contributing to a robust privacy framework.

  • Provide Expert Guidance: offer advice and support to staff, parents, and the public on all matters related to access to information and privacy, including the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: keep current with technological advancements, especially those impacting privacy, and monitor the use of artificial intelligence within the division.

  • Conduct Research Training: research legislative implications, assist in drafting submissions, and develop and deliver training sessions on access and privacy best practices.

  • Manage Information Resources: maintain and update our Information Management Website and online training platforms.

Education/Qualifications

  • a diploma and relevant certifications, including an Information Access and Protection of Privacy Certificate and an IAPP Certificate
  • a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • an extensive, in-depth understanding of Alberta's access to information and privacy legislation, policies, regulations, and guidelines
  • a strong commitment to protecting personal information and fostering transparency
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders

Desirable:

  • knowledge of ATIP xPress

  • experience with Google Apps for Education

  • records management experience video redaction experience

Rate of Pay

$37.56 - $ 47.92 per hour
