About the role
Northern Lung Function is currently looking for a full time Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As the original pulmonary function testing clinic in the region, we have a long-standing history of providing compassionate and dedicated care to our patients and are recognized as the premier provider for accurate pulmonary testing services in Edmonton and the surrounding area.
The Requirements:
-Successful graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program
-Successful candidates are responsible for providing proof of active registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA) and to maintain registration throughout the employment relationship
-Current BLS certification
-Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision
Responsibilities:
-Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner
-Screen patients for contraindications to pulmonary function testing
-Perform pulmonary function testing as per physician orders and in accordance to ATS standards
-Perform daily calibrations/linearity checks and quality assurance procedures
-Maintain a clean work environment
-Work with an interdisciplinary team and other support staff to provide optimal patient care
Experience:
-PFT lab experience and knowledge & skills to perform PFTs to ATS standards is preferred
-Experience using Accuro an asset
