About the role
Cornerstone Co-op invites applications for the position of Meat Supervisor to join our Meat team on a full-time basis at our location in St. Paul, AB. Reporting to the Meat Manager.
What you’ll do:
- Engage and interact with member-owners and customers to provide outstanding Co-op experiences.
- Provide meal solution suggestions and recommendations to members and customers based on their needs and preferences.
- Perform proper clean-up, maintenance, and housekeeping duties (i.e., logging temperatures, sanitizing work areas).
- Provide leadership and direction to the Meat team, creating a positive and productive work environment.
- Assist the Meat Manager in overseeing team performance, scheduling, and department operations.
- Support sales and margin goals through effective merchandising and inventory control.
- Take an active role on the sales floor, coaching and mentoring team members while leading by example.
- Maintain stock levels through regular ordering, receiving, and stocking of meat products.
- Ensure safe food handling practices and adherence to all safety and cleanliness standards.
- Complete administrative and operational tasks to support the department’s success.
- Be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays on a rotational basis.
- Demonstrate daily behaviors that align with the Co-operative’s vision, mission, and values.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations and customer service initiatives.

Who you are:
- You have a Grade 12 education or a combination of relevant experience. Previous meat or retail supervisory experience is an asset.
- You’re action-oriented, customer-focused, and enjoy working with others as part of a team.
- You’re honest, trustworthy, and results-oriented, always striving to be the best in what you do.
- You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
- You are proficient in handling and preparing a variety of meats, including beef, pork, and chicken, while adhering to food safety and quality standards.
- You are capable of regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
