The Role Under the direction of the Superintendent, Geospatial Solutions, this position is responsible for supporting the City’s continuous initiatives to modernize business processes and enhance customer service through the effective use of geospatial technologies, including the City’s ArcGIS Enterprise platform, Cityworks, and related integrations. The Geospatial Solutions Analyst will provide support to a variety of users across internal departments, external agencies, and the public. Qualifications
- Three (3) year degree or diploma in GIS/Geomatics or a related field;
- Two (2) to three (3) years of related work experience;
- An acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
- Valid G Class license with an abstract acceptable to City standards
- Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) designation considered an asset
The Candidate The successful candidate should possess the following experience, knowledge and competencies :
- Experience with modern Esri GIS software (ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, CityEngine, Insights, Field Maps, Dashboards, Story Maps, Experience Builder, Arcade).
- Working knowledge of SDE databases to assist with database maintenance, perform complex queries, create scripts, manipulate data, and automate procedures.
- Strong computer skills in MS Office, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, SQL, Python, HTML, and Crystal Reports. Experience with FME would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining Cityworks or similar work management applications would be considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills to work effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information both orally and in writing with stakeholders/users of all knowledge levels.
- Ability to use logic, reason, and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and system errors and malfunctions.
- Experience working on project teams and supporting staff at all levels.
