The Quality Control role produces projects for both print and digital platforms in a very fast paced environment with weekly deadlines. Graphic compositions, pages and content (image, copy, art, pricing) are assembled using a variety of tools/programs and are expected to adhere to high quality standards with on-time delivery. This position is responsible for ensuring that all files are accurate, all requested changes have been executed and client specific guidelines have been followed. The role ensure satisfactory quality of the digitally manufactured product have adequately met the required specifications and standards, for successful delivery.

Responsibilities When your actions lead to success:

  • Ensure that all files are consistent and follow approved guidelines and specifications.
  • Ensure that all requested changes at all stages have been properly executed by GPA.
  • Check all final files before being uploaded to the printer/client for accuracy.
  • Ensure accuracy of the pages including zoning, product alternates, copy and pricing.
  • Mark up proofs using standardized codes to clearly identify and correct grammatical or typographical errors.
  • Coordinate English copywriting and proofreading process with other internal processes to maximize overall efficiency of workflow.
  • Collaborate with various colleagues and departments such as creative, coordinators, proofreading/QC to ensure optimum process compliance and work is of the upmost quality.
  • Promote, support and maintain all continuous improvement initiative related to your team and the company.
  • Promote and maintain a healthy and safe work environment by adhering and respecting all related company policies and initiatives.

Qualifications When your expertise drives us:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree (or work experience equivalent) in computer graphics or print production
  • Minimum 3years' experience in a similar role or as a graphic layout artist; retail graphic layout experience an asset
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe InDesign Creative Cloud applications (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or similar) - solid understanding of the Mac Operating System
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Results-oriented, ability to work on multiple projects within tight deadlines and perform under pressure
