About the role
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing and managing the maintenance schedules and plans to ensure the efficient operation of all machinery and equipment within the food manufacturing facility. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities and personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and optimizing maintenance practices to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance Scheduling and Planning:

Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all equipment and machinery.

Plan and schedule routine and preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to production operations.

Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to prioritize and plan maintenance activities based on production schedules and equipment needs.

Work Order Management:
-
Create, review, and manage work orders for maintenance tasks.
-
Ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders, including documentation of all maintenance activities.
-
Track and analyze work order metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Resource and Inventory Management:
-
Assist parts department with establishing inventory levels of maintenance supplies and spare parts to ensure availability when needed.

Collaborate with procurement to order parts and materials in support of preventive maintenance schedule, to ensure successful completion of planned maintenance.

Support successful management of maintenance budget and expenditures.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including compliance with regulatory requirements.

Continuous Improvement:
-
Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Communication and Coordination:
-
Collaborate with engineering, production, and other departments to align maintenance activities with operational goals.

Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel on maintenance procedures and best practices.

Act as a liaison between maintenance staff and other departments to address maintenance-related issues and concerns.

Reporting and Documentation:
-
Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.
-
Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, including equipment histories and maintenance logs.
-
May require occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work based on production schedules and maintenance needs.
-
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- High school diploma preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning or a related role, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with a CMMS (MP2).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS) and preventive maintenance practices.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and problem resolution.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
- Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
- Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis. Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.

$27.65 - $47.42
This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, along with geographic location. C.H.
