About the role
Responsibilities:
- Teach small group classes and private lessons to students, focusing on advanced French reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
- Develop personalized lesson plans tailored to students’ academic levels and individual learning needs.
- Use dynamic and engaging teaching strategies to help students enhance their French language proficiency and critical analysis of French texts.
- Prepare students for assessments, including advanced exams in French language and literature.
- Provide regular feedback and guidance to support students’ ongoing progress.
- Create a positive and encouraging classroom environment that motivates students to reach their full potential.
Requirements:
- Strong subject expertise: In-depth knowledge of French language, grammar, literature, and advanced writing techniques.
- Academic background: Must have excellent knowledge of French literature and language, holding a degree in French, French Literature, or a related field.
- Caring and patient: Must enjoy working with high school students and be dedicated to supporting their academic and personal development.
- Classroom management: Ability to maintain a productive learning atmosphere in both small group and individual lesson settings.
- Customized instruction: Skilled at adapting teaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs of high school students.
- Team player: Willing to collaborate with colleagues and take on additional teaching responsibilities as needed.
- Adaptability: Comfortable adopting new teaching methods, tools, and evolving curriculum standards.
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring high school students is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage and motivate students.
- Ability to create a supportive, positive, and inspiring learning environment.
- Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and student assessment practices.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
