Join e4c as a Nutrition Support Worker and bring healthy meals and positive relationships to the heart of local schools. As a Nutrition Support Worker, you will be responsible for food service activities, including meal preparation and service. Your role will involve following proper food safety practices to ensure a clean and sanitary environment. What You Bring To The Team
- A passion for working with children and communities.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- An understanding of and commitment to following food safety, health, and cleaning protocols.
- General understanding of planning a menu and food inventory management.
- Food preparation or kitchen experience.
- Proficient in using technology and the ability to use email, navigate the internet, and place online orders.
- An Alberta Food Safety Basics Certificate (or the willingness to obtain one).
- An understanding of cybersecurity and the practice of safe online habits.
- An understanding of diverse cultures and trauma-informed approaches.
Important work you will do at e4c
- Provide students nutritious meals each school day so they can focus on learning, growing, and making connections, at various locations across Edmonton.
- Empowering students to create healthy eating habits through understanding the importance of nutrition and healthy food choices.
- Follow Alberta Health Services protocols to ensure that the school nutrition kitchens are well maintained, clean, and sanitary.
- Plan and receive food orders while maintaining proper inventory management processes.
- Contribute to the success of the School Nutrition Program by providing feedback and assisting with the program registration process.
- Participate in workshops, training, and organizational meetings for ongoing professional development.
