About the role

HME Home Health Ltd. (www.hmebc.com) is a leading industry supplier of hospitals and home care medical equipment alongside assistive devices such as wheelchairs, power chairs, and other mobility aids. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced service-oriented individual to join our growing team as an Administrative Assistant at our Kamloops location.

HME Home Health is a fast-growing company, with over 130 full-time staff across offices in Richmond, South Surrey, Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, North Vancouver, Sechelt, and Kamloops.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about the healthcare industry and helping others; have a history of success and seek to provide outstanding customer service in a growth-oriented company. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced and driven work environment and care about our clients.

Hours for this role are full-time Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. HME offers a

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and input referral requests into business management software
  • Coordinate and schedule deliveries, pick-ups, and services with clinicians and clients
  • Monitor timelines and send reminders for service extensions
  • Maintain and track overdue items
  • Handle billing and reporting for corporate rental programs
  • Match purchase orders to invoices and assist with client invoicing
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and faxes
  • Support bulk purchasing and purchase order creation
  • Assist the Sales managers with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Perform general office organization and administrative duties
  • Occasional light lifting (up to 40 lbs.) may be required

Required Skills:

  • Strong communication skills; fluent in English (both verbal and written).
  • Strong computer skills (fast)- must be comfortable with MS Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, & Excel.
  • Multi-tasking and hardworking (expect to process 30-40 orders a day).
  • Healthcare experience is an asset however full training will be provided on the specific medical equipment.
  • Must have a friendly, positive attitude and have the ability to have fun while working in a fast-paced environment.
