Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer
Location: Vancouver, Canada ( Hybrid - 3 days Onsite)

Job Overview
The Senior Power BI Developer leads the design, development, and deployment of advanced business intelligence solutions using the Power BI platform. This role is responsible for transforming complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving BI best practices across the organization. The position requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop complex Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets tailored to business needs
- Lead BI projects from requirements gathering through to deployment, collaborating with business stakeholders, analysts, and IT teams
- Build and optimize data models (star/snowflake schemas) and integrate with various data sources (SQL, Azure, Excel, APIs, etc.)
- Write advanced DAX calculations and Power Query (M language) scripts for complex data analysis and performance tuning
- Implement and enforce data governance, security, and compliance standards, including row-level security (RLS) and data access controls
- Mentor and guide junior BI developers , fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to design and maintain robust data pipelines, warehouses, and integration solutions
- Conduct peer reviews, troubleshoot, and resolve reporting issues to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Document development processes and operational procedures for BI solutions
- Stay current with Power BI and BI industry trends to recommend and implement enhancements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in BI development, with at least 3 years in a senior Power BI role
- Expertise in Power BI (dashboard/report creation, dataflows, gateways, REST API).
- Strong data modeling skills (star/snowflake schemas, data warehouse concepts).
- Advanced proficiency in DAX
- Experience with SQL and integrating diverse data sources
- Knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Data Lake is a plus
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
