Senior Construction Inspector
You need a valid Canadian passport for crossing international border.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of our Contract Administration Group, you will be responsible for all aspects of construction inspection related to various construction site projects for different field office locations within Ontario. Senior Construction Inspector for the project, working under the direction of a Contract Administrator. The Senior Construction Inspector shall work on all aspects of administering a construction inspection and administration, including but not limited to:
· Inspecting construction of various projects to ensure compliance with contract documents;
· Prepare daily reports for active construction contracts.
· Issue Contract Deficiency Reports including follow-up on required corrective actions and inspection of same.
· Observe, act, and report on any contractual and non-contractual infractions or safety, security, operational interference, environmental protection measures or third-party inconvenience.
· Promoting and overseeing compliance with health and safety regulations
· Interpreting requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications;
· Verifying quantities, preparing progress reports and maintaining documentation;
· Supervise Junior Inspectors and Checkers.
· Liaising with contractors and other stakeholders.
· Travel and work on contracts various project locations.
Qualifications
· OACETT designation as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) or registered with PEO as an EIT and must have EIT license.
· Structure Experience on Three or more MTO/Municipal projects or five year general highway/bridge construction experience.
· Experience with MTO CMS is an asset.
· Two or more year of experience on a highway or bridge construction project.
· Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook).
· Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications;
· Excellent communication, judgement, organizational and interpersonal skills;
· Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle;
· Able to work flexible hours and travel to different site locations.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
Additional pay:
- Overtime pay
