What would my role be?
Reporting to the Manager, Adult Day Program, you will, in collaboration with the Manager and Coordinator, plan, organize, and facilitate social activities to meet the recreation-related needs of the residents participating in the Day Program. Your tasks will also include facilitating individual engagement and participation in activities and, on occasion, accompanying residents on group outings.
How do I qualify?
Required:
-
Two (2) year Community College Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience in a retirement or seniors home setting.

Minimum of six (6) months of experience in group animation and activities
-
Work experience with residents including those living with dementia.

Fluent in French and English
Preferred:
-
Member of Therapeutic Recreation Ontario
What skills should I possess to succeed in the role?

Able to work autonomously and to work as a member of the team actively and effectively.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including superior ability to connect with individuals living with dementia.

Flexibility, adaptability, and innovation in practice in a continuously changing environment.

Strong focus on residents, their experience and quality of life.

Basic Computer Skills.

Basic knowledge of medical terminology

What would my role be?
