Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX): On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX) for a 5-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX) - Job Description: The Senior Audit Manager will assist in executing audit activities for Canadian Banking in support of the Audit Department's global mandate. This includes ensuring business strategies, plans, and initiatives and all audit activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The project involves audits related to automotive finance, deposits, and SOX, with potential involvement in fraud audits.
Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX) - Responsibilities:
- Execute assigned audit activities independently as a team member.
- Work with other audit teams as required and carry out specific projects.
- Assess controls across the First Line of Defense, including financial controls, regulatory obligations, policies and procedures, underwriting, systems, and fraud management.
- Determine the efficiency, effectiveness, integrity, and reliability of internal controls using data analytics.
- Prepare audit results and findings for presentation to management and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Document all audit work performed to ensure compliance with department standards.
- Identify and assess materiality of control weaknesses and prepare/review audit findings.
- Draft audit findings and correspondence to management and perform audit issue tracking and testing.
Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX) - Mandatory Skills:
- 10+ years in Retail Banking, Audit, Regulatory body, or related experience.
- Experience with lending (automotive in particular), deposit products, or key regulations/regulatory, including SOX.
- 2+ years’ experience with data analytics or visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, PowerBI, Python) with larger data sets.
Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX) – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Accounting designations or technical/professional qualifications.
- Knowledge of audit processes and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with underwriting and funding for reviews of files and applications.
Senior Audit Manager, Banking (SOX) – Assignment Length: The contract duration is from ASAP to December 31, 2025, with a possibility of extension.
