Summary of Duties:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities/Designate, the Electrician is involved in the performance of a variety of maintenance, repair, and installation tasks on electrical equipment in buildings throughout the district; and work as a member of a team to ensure the timely resolution of general district Facilities requirements, in accordance with applicable Canadian Electrical Code, Directives, Provincial Standards, regulations, policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Graduation
  • Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience at the journeyman level
  • Field Safety Representative certificate
  • Valid BC Driver's License
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and use judgement in the resolution of problems
  • Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions
  • Good interpersonal and communication (oral) skills
  • Demonstrated ability in a variety of functions within the construction industry
  • Self-starter with ability to organize daily tasks, work independently and as a team member

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Direct Digital Control (DDC) experience with HVAC and lighting systems
  • Arc Flash Training
  • Lockout Procedures
